Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school students. This contract position offers you the chance to focus on a small, dedicated caseload of 9th-12th graders, working one-on-one or with up to three students at a time. Based near Centerville, TN, this role provides great flexibility, allowing you to choose your preferred day for a seven-hour work week throughout the full school year.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching license or certification in Tennessee (or the ability to obtain one) Background in creating individualized education plans (IEPs) and tracking student progress Experience working with high school-aged students receiving special education services Excellent communication and organizational abilities Comfortable collaborating with general education staff, families, and student support teams Passionate about making a positive difference in students' academic and personal growth
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tailored lesson plans based on students' unique learning needs and IEP goals Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary Provide a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters independence and confidence Engage in regular communication with families, related service providers, and school staff Maintain detailed records of student achievements and challenges
