Qualifications:
Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification in Tennessee National certification (ASLPI, EIPA, or similar) required Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement specialized lesson plans that support language, academics, and self-advocacy for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Provide direct and consultative services tailored to individual IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff to ensure accommodations are in place Collect and monitor data to track student progress and adjust supports as needed Engage in ongoing communication with families, administrators, and related service providers Participate in professional development and maintain compliance with district and state requirements
