Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Here's an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Moderate to Severe Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful difference. This full-time contract assignment is available near Franklin, TN and spans from ASAP through the end of the school year. You'll have the chance to collaborate in a supportive environment, working closely with students who have a variety of needs and building strong relationships with their families and team members. Your expertise will help empower and guide a caseload of 22 students on IEPs and 28 students on 504 Plans. This role offers the satisfaction of seeing your students grow, succeed, and reach their individual goals—as well as the chance to refine your own professional skills every day.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Tennessee teaching license with 461 Special Education Certification (Moderate to Severe Disabilities) Previous experience working with moderate to severe populations in a school setting Strong understanding of IEP and 504 Plan processes Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
Deliver specially designed instruction to diverse learners based on individual education plans Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and 504 Plans to ensure compliance and student success Provide academic, functional, and behavioral support tailored to each student Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, related service providers, and support staff Engage families in the educational process and participate in meetings, evaluations, and consultations
