A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Position Overview Provide specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom for elementary students with varying disabilities, including autism and developmental delays, using individualized teaching strategies and interventions. Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals while using assessment and student data to evaluate progress and adjust instruction as needed. Teach academic, behavioral, social, and executive-functioning skills in a structured, supportive classroom environment that promotes student growth and independence. Collaborate with IEP team members, related service providers, families, and general education staff to support student development and achievement.
