9529961-37379 Job Description Step into a rewarding, full-time contract opportunity supporting students across K-12+ by lending your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. Beginning August 5, 2026 and continuing through May 19, 2027, youll work closely with students in both general and specialized education settings, traveling between schools within the Chattanooga area. Your schedule and caseloaddivided among elementary, middle, and high school studentswill be thoughtfully developed to minimize travel, and we are open to considering candidates interested in part-time schedules. The ideal candidate brings experience with Braille instruction as well as proficiency in assistive technology for visually impaired students. Familiarity with accessing assistive tech through the Federal Quota program is a bonus. Youll utilize the TN Pulse platform for IEP documentation and participate actively in IEP meetings, collaborating on strategies to maximize each students learning experience. Caseloads can include students in general classrooms as well as those with multiple disabilities in specialized learning environments.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid, active DOE certification required Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired across K-12 settings Strong Braille knowledge and assistive technology skills; understanding of Federal Quota program a plus Experience with IEP processes and confidence using digital IEP platforms (preferably TN Pulse) Able to travel between school sites; reliable transportation needed Successful completion of fingerprinting/credentialing requirements
