POSITION SUMMARY

Oak Ridge Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher. The teacher will provide individualized instruction, manage special education services, and collaborate with staff and families to support student learning and progress.

Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success.

Provide effective instruction in a co-teaching environment.

Establish a supportive learning environment through effective classroom management.

Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and other stakeholders.

Use effective instructional methods tailored to student needs.

Organize and plan the instructional program.

Evaluate instructional effectiveness and monitor student progress.

Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.

Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth.

Demonstrate knowledge of subject areas relevant to the assignment.

Provide special education case management.

Schedule meetings, develop and write Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and accurately document progress toward IEP goals.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of a bachelor's degree and an active Tennessee teaching license with Special Education endorsement code 460 appropriate for the assignment required.

Teaching experience preferred.

Special education case management experience preferred.

$38,962.70 to $68,962.60 Per Year
