Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students with diverse needs in a collaborative and inclusive school environment. This opportunity is perfect for a passionate Special Education professional ready to provide targeted support throughout the school year. The position runs through late May 2027 and involves delivering direct and indirect instructional minutes for approximately 23 students. One of these students is learning Braille, allowing you to further utilize a broad spectrum of your teaching skills. Qualifications and Experience Active Tennessee Educator License obtained via TNCompass (Practitioner or Professional tier accepted) At least one of the following TDOE Special Education endorsements: Special Education Interventionist (K-8) Special Education Interventionist (6-12) Special Education Comprehensive (K-12) Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K-3) Strong background in supporting students with mild-to-moderate or complex needs Willingness to follow a structured schedule and deliver precise service minutes Experience or interest in facilitating Braille instruction is a plus Key Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and support according to IEP service minutes, without case-managing Collaborate closely with teaching teams, related service providers, and families Offer differentiated support for a varied caseload, adapting to each learner's unique needs Track and document student progress to ensure goals are met Maintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding student progress and needs Immerse yourself in a professionally supportive setting while building meaningful connections with students and colleagues.
