Sunbelt is scheduling interviews for a Special Education Teacher in the Somerville, Tennessee area. We are actively seeking a dedicated, compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the full duration of the current school year. This position is full-time, working in a self-contained classroom serving elementary-aged students (Pre-K or K5th Grade). Responsibilities Include:

Lead a self-contained Special Education classroom (Pre-K or K5th grade) tailored to individual student learning and developmental needs. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with district and state standards. Provide direct instructional services and support across functional, academic, and behavioral areas. Conduct regular progress monitoring, assessments, and documentation to track student progress. Collaborate with parents, school administrators, related service providers, and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational approach.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.

Licensure:

Active Tennessee Special Education Teaching License (or valid endorsement/eligibility to teach Special Education in TN).

Experience:

Recent experience working in self-contained Special Education environments or with Pre-K/Elementary populations preferred.

37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday during standard school operating hours. Start ASAP, with contract duration spanning the full current school year.
