Job Description
Take your expertise in special education to the next level with a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students for the 2026-2027 school year. This role focuses on providing direct and indirect services—without case management responsibilities—to a caseload of approximately 23 students, including one student currently learning Braille. The assignment is set to run through late May 2027 and offers 37.5 hours per week in a supportive and collaborative educational environment. What we're seeking: An active, valid Tennessee Educator License issued through TNCompass, meeting one of the following: Practitioner or Professional License criteria At least one of the following TDOE Special Education endorsements: Special Education Interventionist (K-8) for mild-to-moderate disabilities Special Education Interventionist (6-12) for mild-to-moderate secondary education Special Education Comprehensive (K-12) focusing on severe, profound, or multiple disabilities Special Education Early Childhood (Pre-K-3) for early intervention Solid background in delivering direct and indirect instructional minutes for students with diverse learning needs Ability to adapt teaching approaches for visual impairment support, specifically for students learning Braille Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere In this role, you'll: Provide specialized instruction based on individualized student needs outlined in IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to optimize learning outcomes Maintain organized records of student progress and services delivered Participate in team meetings and professional development activities Communicate confidently with families, caregivers, and colleagues to ensure continuity of care If you're passionate about impacting lives in special education and hold the required Tennessee credentials, you're encouraged to apply today.
