Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and social skills tailored to students' individual needs Provide behavioral support using positive behavior management techniques aligned with students' IEPs and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) guidelines Support students with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities through communication strategies such as American Sign Language and visual supports Help with physical assistance for students requiring mobility or sensory accommodations during classroom activities Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and execute effective behavior management strategies Support classroom routines including early childhood education activities, preschool experiences, toddler care, and childcare tasks Handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all students Qualifications Experience working with children or students with disabilities in classroom or childcare settings Knowledge of special education practices, including behavior management for students with behavioral disorders or developmental disabilities Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders support strategies and communication skills such as American Sign Language Background in early childhood education, childhood development, or related fields preferred Ability to assist with lesson planning and literacy education, including basic math skills Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, therapists, parents, and other staff members Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document student progress and support team efforts

Pay:

$12.50 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
