Our days include strong early literacy and mathematics instruction, meaningful play, outdoor exploration, art, music, inquiry, and practical life experiences. The Role Violet's House is seeking a warm, thoughtful, and highly capable Part-Time Lead Teacher to join our classroom Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM. This is a hands-on teaching role for an educator who understands young children, values strong foundational academics, and believes meaningful learning does not have to look like a traditional classroom. The Lead Teacher will work closely with the founder to support our small mixed-age learning community and maintain an intentional, calm, engaging classroom environment. Responsibilities Lead and support small-group literacy and mathematics instruction. Facilitate developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children at different ages and skill levels. Implement Violet's House curriculum and instructional approach. Observe children and use those observations to differentiate instruction. Support phonemic awareness, phonics, oral language, handwriting, and emerging reading and writing. Develop mathematical thinking through hands-on, conceptual learning. Facilitate play, inquiry, art, nature exploration, practical life, and outdoor learning. Build warm, respectful relationships with children. Use positive, developmentally appropriate classroom guidance. Document student learning and progress. Maintain an organized, beautiful, inviting learning environment. Communicate thoughtfully and professionally with families. Collaborate with the founder on planning, assessment, and individual student needs. Participate fully in classroom routines, transitions, meals/snacks, outdoor time, setup, and cleanup.

Qualifications Our ideal candidate:

Has experience teaching in early childhood or early elementary settings. Understands child development and developmentally appropriate practice. Has a strong foundation in early literacy and mathematics. Is comfortable working with a mixed-age group. Can differentiate instruction based on children's developmental and academic needs. Values play as an important part of learning. Enjoys spending time outdoors with children. Is warm, patient, observant, dependable, and flexible. Can confidently lead a classroom while collaborating with another educator. Communicates effectively with children, families, and colleagues. Believes children can be challenged academically without sacrificing joy, curiosity, movement, or childhood. A degree in education, child development, early childhood education, or a related field is preferred. Strong relevant classroom experience will also be considered.
