Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity near Dallas, TX as a Special Education Teacher shaping the lives of students throughout the school year. This position offers a dynamic work environment and the satisfaction that comes with supporting diverse learners across elementary, intermediate, and secondary campuses. You'll play an essential role in guiding students toward success and ensuring individualized needs are met.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education teacher certification required Texas Department of Education License necessary EC-12 certification required; EC-6 or 6-12 Generalist/Core preferred Proven experience with ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings, including active participation and documentation Professional references provided upon presentation Adherence to district dress code, including professional attire, limited piercings, and conservative hair color
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans to support students with varying needs, in both self-contained and resource/inclusion settings Guide caseloads typically ranging from 8-14 students in self-contained/life skills/SLC programs and 20-30 students in resource/inclusion roles Teach in classroom settings with a student ratio of 10-14 (self-contained, with two paraprofessionals) or 8-16 (resource classes) Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, participate in ARD meetings, and communicate effectively with families and staff Maintain accurate documentation and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
