Job Description

Empower students to reach their full academic potential by providing specialized instruction as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing through virtual services. This contract opportunity involves supporting a high school student who is deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they have equitable access to educational content and communication in the classroom. With minimal scheduled servicesjust 160 minutes distributed as 20-minute sessions eight times per yearyoull play an essential role in this students learning journey while maintaining a flexible commitment.
Qualifications:
Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) licensure for the state of Tennessee Deep understanding of the educational and communication needs of deaf/hard of hearing students Experience delivering instruction in a virtual learning environment preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with educational teams, students, and families Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), accommodations, and modifications Tech-savvy, with reliable internet access and comfort using online learning platforms
Key Responsibilities:
Provide virtual direct instruction and consultation, ensuring accessibility for the student Design individualized strategies and accommodations tailored to support learning and communication Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and family members Monitor student progress and contribute to IEP meetings as needed Maintain accurate service documentation in compliance with applicable regulations
