Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle schoolers in a positive, collaborative educational environment. This position is ideal for an experienced Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact with students requiring mild to moderate support in a self-contained classroom. The start date is flexible, and you'll work alongside dedicated paraprofessionals and have access to behavior support resources.
What You'll Bring:
Hold a valid Special Education license, certified for grades 4-8 (EC-6th certification will also be considered) Background in delivering specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, especially in mild/moderate settings Ability to build a nurturing, inclusive classroom culture Strong communication skills to collaborate with paraprofessionals, RBTs, and families Experience with lesson planning, progress monitoring, and adapting curriculum as needed Commitment to empowering students in grades 6-8 to reach their highest potential
What You'll Do:
Provide direct instruction and support for a caseload of 10 students in a self-contained setting Foster student growth using evidence-based strategies and accommodations Guide and co-manage the classroom with one to two paraprofessionals consistently present Work closely with the support team and use available resources, including RBT access, to address student needs. Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure individualized education programs are met and exceeded Maintain clear records to document student progress and participation This school values a positive work environment, recognizes individual contributions, and supports professional development throughout your assignment, which runs through late May 2027.
