9586869-75040 Job Description Step into a rewarding role supporting students with visual impairments within a thriving school community near Garland, TX. This full-time, on-site opportunity runs from July 30, 2026, to May 28, 2027, and offers the chance to make a genuine difference across a diverse range of campuses. The position is itinerant, currently serving six campuses with a dynamic caseload of 12-15 students spanning various age groups, including a few homebound learners. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as assignments may adjust with student needs throughout the year. Your expertise as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is critical in promoting accessibility and fostering confidence in students navigating their educational journey with visual challenges.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

Active Texas State Visually Impaired (TSVI) licensure is required Prior experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments Ability to manage a flexible, changing caseload and travel between school sites Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working with staff, families, and students Collaborative spirit for working alongside general and special education personnel

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments, maintaining and updating individualized education plans (IEPs) Teach and adapt curriculum to facilitate accessible learning across grade levels Support students both in-class and in homebound settings, tailoring techniques to individual needs Foster self-advocacy and independence for students Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support Imagine yourself as a vital resource, enhancing educational outcomes for visually impaired students and celebrating their progress.
