This contract opportunity is located close to Plano, TX, and seeks a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction and consultation in an itinerant capacity across several school campuses. You will play a vital part in empowering students aged pre-K through high school, including homebound learners, to achieve their fullest academic potential.

Qualifications:

Hold an active Texas State Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) certification Previous experience teaching or supporting visually impaired students is preferred Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple campuses and teams Flexibility to travel between assigned locations and adapt to a fluid caseload throughout the academic year Commitment to individualized education and student growth

Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to a caseload of 12-15 students, including at least three homebound learners Provide consultative support to general and special education staff across assigned middle and high schools, as well as elementary campuses Assess student needs and develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to visual impairment Collaborate with families and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support Adapt materials and environments to maximize accessibility Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring, and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines Travel between six assigned campuses as needed, with caseload and locations subject to change over the school year This full-time assignment runs from late July to the end of May, offering consistency and growth as you make a difference each day.
