POSITION TITLE:

Certified Teacher

REPORTS TO

Lead Teacher and Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Full -Time/Exempt

Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the

academic subject area(s) assigned and assist students in fulfilling their potential for intellectual,

social, and spiritual growth.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree Valid Texas teaching certificate

Desire to work in a Spirit-filled Christian environment with students of all ages and social and

ethnic backgrounds

General knowledge of academic subjects, curriculum, and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior in a positive manner

Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

In conjunction with Lead Teacher, develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the

requirements of KMAs curriculum program.

Present subject matter in accordance with Mastery Learning concepts.

Use a variety of instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that

reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students in the classroom.

Work cooperatively with other staff in planning and implementing instructional goals,

objectives, and methods in accordance with KMA Mastery Learning process.

Supervise assignments of teacher aide and volunteer(s), as applicable.

Integrate technology into instruction to strengthen the teaching for learning process.

In Conjunction with Lead Teacher, analyze and disaggregate data to assist in meeting the

academic needs of students.

Assist students in analyzing and improving study methods and habits.

Assess student progress on a regular basis and provide progress reports to parents as required

Assume responsibility for extra duties and activities as assigned by the lead teacher and/or

principal.

Classroom Management and Organization

Create a classroom environment conducive to learning that is appropriate for students

Intellectual, Social, and Spiritual development.

Manage student behavior in accordance with the KMA Honor Code, student handbook, and

campus procedures.

Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and

facilities.

Compile, maintain, student portfolio and file physical and computerized reports, records, and

other documents as required.

Communication

Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students,

lead teacher, principal, and teacher assistants, as applicable.

Maintain a professional relationship with students, colleagues, parents, and community

members.

Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.

Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of KMA and demonstrates

behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible as set out in the Texas Educator Code of

Ethics.

Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Professional Growth and Development

Keep informed of and comply with laws, policies, and procedures

Attend and participate in staff meetings and special events as assigned by the lead teacher

and/or principal.
