Desired Qualifications:
Hold valid Texas teaching certifications as both a Generalist (EC-6) and Special Education Teacher (Sped) covering all levels Experience or sincere interest in teaching students within self-contained Life Skills settings Strong classroom management skills with flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to student growth Ability to foster independence, social skills, and practical life abilities in students Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with other staff and families
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals in a self-contained classroom Create and adapt lesson plans to support diverse learner needs and reinforce life skills Utilize appropriate strategies, assistive technology, and tactile learning materials Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families to ensure comprehensive student support Track and document academic and behavioral progress and participate in IEP meetings Maintain a structured, nurturing classroom environment promoting confidence and independence This contract runs through May 27, 2027, allowing you to immerse yourself in a school community that values compassion, professionalism, and real-world skill development.
