We are hiring a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work alongside our lead facilitator and help keep the school day productive, organized, and supportive. Our school offers a different kind of education: learner-centered, hands-on, and responsive to individual students. Learners may work at different academic levels, follow individualized learning paths, participate in small-group instruction, and apply their learning through meaningful projects. We're looking for someone who is excited to support this approach while still providing clear structure, expectations, and follow-through. About the Role Most days, you will work alongside the lead facilitator to support individual students and small groups. You will help students understand directions, get started on assignments, stay engaged, work through frustration, and participate in group learning and hands-on projects. On occasional days when the lead facilitator is absent, you must be able to independently run the school day using schedules, lessons, and individual student plans that have already been prepared. You will not be expected to create curriculum or know every academic subject, but you must be able to follow a plan, maintain routines and expectations, make reasonable day-to-day decisions, and communicate clearly about what occurred. This is an active, hands-on position—not a sit-and-watch role. When the academic program is closed but Curious Minds remains open, this position shifts to our school-age camp program. This includes fall, winter, spring, and summer breaks. Camp responsibilities include helping lead activities, projects, transitions, and daily routines. When enrollment and staffing allow, we plan to offer separate experiences for younger and older campers, and this position may take primary responsibility for the older group. Responsibilities Support individual students and small groups during academic work Help students understand directions, identify a first step, and continue working Provide calm, respectful redirection when students become distracted, frustrated, or avoidant Assist with group lessons, projects, enrichment activities, and transitions Maintain active supervision and a safe, productive learning environment Help organize student materials, binders, supplies, and learning spaces Communicate student progress, concerns, and work completed Occasionally lead the full school day using prepared plans Help lead school-age camp programming during school breaks and summer What We're Looking For The right person will be dependable, calm, patient, respectfully firm, and comfortable working with older children and teenagers. They will notice what needs attention, take appropriate initiative, follow through, and remain actively engaged with students. Our learners work at different academic levels, and several are neurodivergent. Experience supporting autistic students, students with ADHD, or learners who benefit from additional structure is helpful, but not required. You do not need to know every academic subject. You should be comfortable reading written directions, using provided resources, helping a student think through the next step, and asking for guidance when needed. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent required Experience in education, tutoring, homeschooling, youth programs, classroom support, camps, or similar work is preferred Must be comfortable independently supervising and leading a group Must be available Monday through Friday during daytime operating hours Must be able to pass all required background checks Teaching certification is not required Schedule, Pay, and Benefit This is a full-time, Monday-Friday daytime position. During school breaks and summer, work continues through our school-age camp program on days Curious Minds is open. No regular evening or weekend hours are required. Pay is based on relevant experience and demonstrated ability to perform the responsibilities of the position. A Clarity Direct primary care membership is available after successful completion of the probationary period. This is a direct primary care membership and is not traditional health insurance.

Pay:
