Job Description

Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a supportive school district in Wylie, X seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher supporting a Life Skills classroom during the 2026-2027 school year. This role offers the opportunity to work with a strong support team while helping students build academic, social, behavioral, and independent living skills in a structured learning environment.

Hours:

40 hours per week |

Daily Schedule:

8 hours per day

Pay Rate:

$41-$45 per hour About the Opportunity This classroom is supported by an experienced team of three paraprofessionals, creating a collaborative environment focused on student success. The assignment may be a semester-long placement or continue through the end of the school year, depending on district needs. The ideal candidate is comfortable supporting students with significant behavioral needs and has experience managing special education programming, documentation, and compliance requirements. Responsibilities Deliver specialized instruction within a Life Skills classroom Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Lead ARD meetings and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams Monitor student progress and maintain accurate data collection Implement behavioral supports and individualized interventions Create a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment Collaborate with paraprofessionals and school staff to support student achievement Qualifications Active Special Education Certification Core/General Education Certification covering at least EC-4 grade levels Experience working with students with significant support needs preferred Knowledge of IEP development, ARD facilitation, and progress monitoring Strong classroom management and communication skills
