r44769-23030 Job Description Special Education Teacher | Charles City, VA Step into a rewarding Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) role in Charles City, VA, where youll provide individualized instructional support to students while collaborating closely with general education teachers and school staff. We are seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers to support students in a dynamic elementary school setting for the upcoming school year. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and collaborative special education professional who is passionate about helping students reach their academic and developmental goals. The position includes a combination of push-in special education support within the general education classroom and pull-out services based on individual student needs and IEP requirements.

Qualifications:

• Active teaching license or certification appropriate for Special Education in Virginia
• Experience working with students receiving special education services preferred
• Strong understanding of IEPs, progress monitoring, and individualized instruction
• Ability to provide effective instructional and behavioral support
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work closely with general education teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers
• Organized, adaptable, and student-focused approach
• Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Schedule:

• Full-time position for the school year
• 8:45 AM4:15 PM37.

5 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Provide push-in special education support within the general education classroom
• Deliver pull-out special education services based on student needs and IEP requirements
• Manage a caseload of up to 14 students
• Develop, write, and maintain individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Monitor and document student academic and functional progress
• Attend IEP meetings, team meetings, and other required educational meetings
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers to provide strong instructional support
• Adapt instruction and learning materials to meet individual student needs
• Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in students IEPs
• Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation
• Support students in achieving their academic, behavioral, and developmental goals
