9686995-20155 Job Description Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working with 3rd-5th grade students in a supportive school environment near Gainesville, VA. Make an immediate impact in the lives of children who benefit from your expertise and dedication, while enjoying a collaborative team setting. As a vital member of the school's Special Education team, youll work with a manageable caseload of 10-12 students. This position offers stability through the end of the school year, with two current openings and a dedicated support system in place.
Qualifications:
Must hold an active Virginia Special Education - General Curriculum Teaching Certification Previous experience teaching and case-managing students with diverse learning needs, preferably in elementary grades (3rd-5th) Strong communication and organizational skills Enthusiastic, compassionate, and adaptable to different learning styles
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique abilities Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and related service personnel to foster inclusive learning Provide direct instruction, support, and accommodations to encourage student growth and classroom participation Track and document student progress, making timely adjustments to plans Engage regularly with families and guardians to ensure open communication and student success Create a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment Youll benefit from a pay rate of $40 per hour with 37.5 hours across five days a week.
