e2112-23112 Job Description Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of students with visual impairments. This full-time, on-site role involves working directly with a pediatric student in a 1:1 setting throughout the school year. The focus is on supporting educational goals, fostering independence, and ensuring access to curriculum and classroom participation. Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution is required Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired is essential Experience working in a pediatric or K-12 educational setting is highly preferred Familiarity with assistive technology, Braille instruction, and individualized education programs (IEPs) Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams Flexibility and commitment to long-term support for a student in a contract capacity
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one instruction and accommodations for a visually impaired student, tailored to their learning needs Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the students IEP and educational objectives Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, families, and school staff Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed Support the development of self-advocacy skills and independence in the student Maintain thorough and timely documentation of services and student achievements
