Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic Teacher - Special Education (Middle School) to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will design and implement specialized curricula tailored to diverse student needs, support students with disabilities, and foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes growth, independence, and success. Duties Develop and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with special education law and educational regulations Implement evidence-based behavioral therapy techniques, including applied behavior analysis, to support student development Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate learning styles adaptability and utilize learning technology effectively Manage classroom behavior through proactive behavior management strategies tailored for students with special needs Collaborate closely with co-teachers, therapists, parents, and school administrators to coordinate instructional efforts and monitor student progress Conduct assessments, including standardized testing and formative evaluations, to measure student achievement and inform instruction Maintain detailed records of student performance, IEP progress, and behavioral interventions in accordance with educational compliance standards Skills Proven experience working with students with disabilities, including autism and developmental disabilities Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development and implementation, and educational compliance standards Expertise in curriculum development for diverse learners across subjects such as literacy education, math (including calculus and algebra), and physical education Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, therapists, and administrative staff Skilled in classroom management techniques specific to students with behavioral challenges Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles using innovative learning technology tools Experience in behavior management for students with special needs and applying behavioral therapy strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and educational assessment tools Strong organizational skills for lesson planning, tutoring, mentoring, and maintaining accurate records Join us in shaping the future by inspiring our middle school students through dedicated special education teaching.
