Be a catalyst for growth and empowerment as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary self-contained Autism classroom. This is an outstanding contract opportunity for a compassionate educator with expertise in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Youll work in a full-time, school-based role, starting in the 26/27 academic year. The classroom environment is highly structured, fostering academic, social, and adaptive skill-building for elementary-aged learners with a range of communication, sensory, and behavioral needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique strengths and goals Deliver specialized instruction aligned with state standards and student needs Use evidence-based strategies specifically designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder Employ positive behavior interventions and supports, and implement behavior intervention plans as required Collaborate closely with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and behavior specialists to provide comprehensive support Supervise and guide paraprofessionals within the classroom Collect and analyze progress data, ensuring all compliance documentation is accurate and up to date Inspire communication, social, self-regulation, and daily living skills development Maintain a safe, structured, and motivating learning environment

Required Qualifications:

Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain licensure Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs Strong understanding of special education compliance and documentation Effective classroom management and ability to provide positive behavioral support Collaborative spirit for working with multidisciplinary teams and families

Preferred Qualifications:
