As an educator specializing in support for visually impaired students, you'll serve a diverse PreK-12th grade population across a dynamic district that has seen significant growth in the need for vision services. This flexible, district-wide assignment can begin as soon as credentialing is complete and runs through the end of May 2027, with the possibility of part-time hours expanding to full-time. What you'll bring: Valid Virginia Department of Education teaching certification (TVI) Experience supporting students with visual impairments across a range of ages and needs Ability to adapt instructional strategies for students requiring both consultative and intensive service minutes Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach Quick readiness to complete VA Dept. of Social Services background check and TB test Core responsibilities: Deliver vision support services, consulting with both students and school personnel across one or more district schools (exact assignment to be determined) Provide direct instruction and adaptations to meet student IEP objectives Offer consultative guidance to families and teachers to maximize student access and independence Maintain thorough service documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as an integral team member Create and modify materials, leveraging technology and braille resources as needed Possibility to provide services virtually (open to VOCO delivery) This role offers a high level of autonomy in your scheduling and caseload management, with the flexibility to tailor your hours.
