Job Description

Make a genuine difference in the lives of young learners as a Special Education Teacher specializing in early childhood education. Located near scenic Bennington, VT, this contract opportunity provides the chance to support students across multiple school sites while growing your professional skills in a supportive environment. This itinerant role involves working at 3-4 locations, offering a dynamic schedule and meaningful daily variety.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to early childhood students with diverse learning needs Adapt lesson plans to accommodate varying abilities and foster inclusive classroom environments Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Assess student progress regularly and document outcomes to ensure effective interventions and compliance Travel between school sites as scheduled; effectively manage time and resources for each location Communicate clearly and compassionately with both students and caregivers
Qualifications:
Valid VT Early Childhood Endorsement, or eligibility for a provisional license Prior experience teaching pre-kindergarten or early elementary students, especially in special education settings, is highly desirable Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills Ability to adapt to changing caseloads throughout the school year Comfortable working full-time, but open to part-time availability if preferred
