Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a lasting impact in a supportive educational environment as a Special Education Teacher working in an inclusion classroom. This is a full-time, contract opportunity near Chester, VT, where you'll play a vital role in the growth and success of students with diverse needs. Collaborate with caring colleagues and contribute to fostering an inclusive atmosphere that empowers every learner.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification in Vermont or eligibility to obtain Experience working in schools, ideally within an inclusion classroom setting Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt classroom activities to meet a range of learning needs Dedicated to promoting positive engagement, student advocacy, and academic success
Your Role:
Deliver exceptional instruction in an inclusion classroom, serving students with special education needs alongside general education peers Design and adapt lesson plans to provide individualized supports and accommodations Monitor progress, update IEPs, and maintain accurate records in compliance with state/federal guidelines Partner with general education teachers and support staff for effective co-teaching and classroom management Engage in data-driven decision-making to enhance instructional practices and student outcomes Foster a welcoming, affirming learning environment that celebrates student diversity This position lets you contribute directly to students' academic journeys, build lasting professional relationships, and grow your expertise in special education.
