Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Elementary Special Education Teacher supporting students with mild to moderate needs. This full-time contract position runs from August 11, 2026, through June 15, 2027, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact throughout the school year in a dynamic educational environment near Fairfax, VT. Qualifications & Experience:
Current Vermont licensure with Special Education endorsement—or the ability to secure eligibility for Vermont endorsement Previous experience teaching or supporting students in special education settings preferred Ability to manage and adapt instructional strategies for mild/moderate caseloads Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities Adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet diverse learning needs Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure appropriate academic and behavioral interventions Monitor student progress and document data to support continued educational growth Participate in team meetings and professional development initiatives This contract position offers the chance to build lasting relationships with students and colleagues, shape individualized instructional plans, and advance professional expertise within a supportive school community.
