What You'll Need:
Active Vermont Special Education Teacher certification preferred; candidates with pending certification are encouraged to apply. Experience teaching or supporting 6-8th grade students, especially in a self-contained classroom, is highly valued. Strong communication skills to collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and families. Dedication to differentiated instruction and behavior support. Flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to making learning accessible for every child.
Your Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to IEP goals. Develop and implement effective lesson plans for a small, self-contained caseload (6-10 students). Create a classroom culture that promotes respect, engagement, and growth. Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to support each student's needs. Monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed. Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings.
