Aug 22, 2026 Job Description Twinfield seeks a short-term Special Ed Teacher substitute for the first 2 months of the school year. The end of the assignment is expected to be 10/16/2026. The ideal candidate will exhibit a love for students, strong organization and management skills, flexibility, creativity, and an ability to work well with students and parents. The applicant must be able to coordinate and facilitate IEP meetings, be knowledgeable of special education law, complete and maintain special education paperwork according to Vermont state regulations, and work collaboratively as part of student-centered teams of special educators, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, interventionists, and related service providers. This position follows the Caledonia Cooperative Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement which includes but is not limited to paid time off of 15 sick days, 5 personal days, bereavement days and professional development days, teachers work 185 days in a year, free access to Talkspace, tuition reimbursement for 6 or 9 credits, delta dental insurance single coverage for free, Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance and the board pays $1900 towards the out of pocket cost of $2500. Salary is based on education level and years of experience. Prefer someone with at least one year elementary teaching experience and is endorsed in Vermont. If you are not endorsed in Special Education we are willing to train you. Employee must pass a fingerprint background check, agency of human services background check and be licensed as a Vermont Teacher.
