Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding role working with elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic and supportive academic environment. This is a full-time, onsite contract position extending through June 11, 2027. You'll play an instrumental part in developing individualized educational plans, fostering growth for students with a variety of disabilities, and collaborating with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. Be part of a community that values your expertise and seeks to interview candidates as soon as possible—initial interviews may take place via Zoom, though in-person meetings are strongly preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher Certification (required) Proven experience working with elementary-aged children with diverse disabilities Solid understanding of IEP processes and compliance requirements Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Flexibility, empathy, and patience in adapting to varied student needs Ability to create inclusive, positive, and engaging classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instruction that meets each student's IEP goals Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed Employ evidence-based techniques to promote academic and social success Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student integration and growth Participate actively in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development Cultivate a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning space for all students
