Position Overview:
We are looking for passionate educators to join our team. As a Sylvan Learning Teacher, you will provide individualized instruction in a small group setting, adapting your teaching methods to accommodate the diverse needs of our students. Your role will be essential in helping students from various backgrounds achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalized instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, and other subjects as needed. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of students with diverse learning backgrounds, including English language learners and neurodivergent students. Use technology, such as iPads, to enhance learning experiences and document student progress. Engage students in a 3:1 setting, ensuring each student remains engaged and supported. Offer feedback to students and parents and participate in regular training and professional development sessions. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that respects and values each student's background and abilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (or equivalent experience). Teaching certification preferred. Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying academic abilities. Proficiency in adapting curriculum and using hands-on materials to enhance learning. Comfort with using technology in the classroom. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continuous professional development and openness to feedback.
