QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement. Minimum of a bachelor's degree. Assist in supervision and instruction for para-educators or willingness to learn. Design and implement standards-based IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans. Participate in functional behavioral assessments. Develop IEP transition plans, and High School and Beyond plans. Successful experience with a co-teaching model or commitment to participate in training. Experience or demonstrated knowledge of implementing multi-tiered interventions for academics, behavior, and social skills. Willingness to share and collaborate with grade level partners to meet district and/or school improvement plan(s). Training and/or experience in Guided Language Acquisition Design or attend GLAD training Design specially designed instruction for students with a range of disabilities to access general education curriculum. Participate in professional learning communities as determined by the building. The candidate must demonstrate commitment to student success while aligning with state requirements and the school's guiding principles, vision, and mission. The candidate must also demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for working with all students. The candidate must be willing to participate in required trainings and professional development, implement best practices that foster meaningful learning experiences, work within a system that supports student interventions, and collaborate with relevant staff members to enhance student outcomes.
