Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and creating a nurturing learning environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in developing and implementing educational programs for young learners.

DESCRIPTION

Responsible for planning and implementing an individualized, developmentally appropriate educational program for children and ensuring the delivery of holistic, integrated services to children and their families.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

An associate or higher degree in ECE; or DCYF approved equivalent; or If the best candidate for the position is not fully qualified, the contractor must ensure the newly hired staff person is on a Professional Development Plan (PDP) to fully meet the qualifications of their role within five years from the date of hire. Experience teaching preschool children. Meet the STARS requirement and be listed in the State training and registry system (STARS). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to demonstrate sound decision making. Ability to demonstrate leadership skills. Good interpersonal skills essential. Functional computer skills. Sensitive to the needs of young children; willing and able to relate to children and adults from all ethnic, racial, religious, or socioeconomic backgrounds. Must possess a valid driver's license, provide proof of current liability automobile insurance, maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record (insurable by the Agency's insurance carrier), and ability to provide own reliable transportation.
