Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Minimum of five years direct experience as a Special Education Teacher in school-based settings Washington State SPED license and ESA certificate (verification must be provided at application) Background working with transition-aged students or similar life-skills-based programs highly valued Strong communication, collaboration, and case management skills Must have completed a BIE adjudication process, or be able to do so upon hire (expect an additional week for onboarding) Previous experience managing or leading specialized programs for students aged 18-22 preferred

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging instruction to support the educational and life skills growth of students in a transition classroom Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, families, and other team members to create individualized transition plans Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet developmental and functional goals Monitor progress and document outcomes, meeting all reporting requirements Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment promoting independence and self-advocacy Participate in team, IEP, and transition planning meetings as required Picture yourself helping students move confidently into adulthood in a setting that values your expertise and leadership.
