A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

This dynamic, full-time contract role is based near Vancouver, WA, and offers a flexible schedule while allowing you to support students in a variety of educational settings. As an itinerant educator, you will travel weekly to different schools within the district, collaborating closely with staff, families, and students to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active OSPI Certification with a DHH endorsement is required Proven experience supporting students with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and working with FM and ASL users Strong understanding of accommodations and assistive technology for DHH learners Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to varied school settings Commitment to individualized instruction and student-centered support Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
