Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year! Bring your expertise to a dedicated team within a collaborative Learning Resource Center, shaping the path for learners in grades 6, 7, and 8. As part of a welcoming school community, you'll work alongside two fellow LRC teachers, sharing your passion for education and making a meaningful difference every day.

Key Qualifications:

Washington Special Education teaching license or certification (or openness to obtaining one) Willingness to complete fingerprinting through OSPI or ability to do so promptly Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and learning accommodations Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, students, and families Positive, adaptable approach to supporting diverse learners

Primary Responsibilities:

Teach and support a caseload of approximately 40 middle school students within the Learning Resource Center Coordinate and implement educational plans to meet varied student needs Collaborate with two other LRC teachers to ensure consistency and share resources Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment Maintain detailed records and regularly monitor student progress Actively engage in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training This role is a full-time, onsite contract position running from September 9, 2026, through June 16, 2027. You'll work 7.5 hours daily (with a 0.5-hour unpaid lunch), engaging fully with your students and colleagues as you build a strong foundation for academic and personal growth.
