Job Description

Take on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a K-1 setting. This full-time role offers the chance to make a significant difference for students with high needsproviding both academic instruction and essential behavioral and self-care support. Youll work with a cross-categorical caseload, utilizing your expertise to create an environment where each child can thrive.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Wisconsin Special Education Cross Categorical #801 license, or other appropriate special education certification. Experience (or comfort) working with K-1 students with high needs, including self-care and behavioral challenges. Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction and interventions for cross-categorical student populations. Strong collaboration skills for effective partnership with classroom staff, related service providers, and families. Compassionate approach and commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom community.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering specialized instruction to a classroom of kindergarten and first-grade students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. Addressing a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and self-care needs within the classroom. Developing and implementing IEPs tailored to each students unique goals and requirements. Collaborating with fellow educators, therapists, and families to promote consistent support and student growth. Employing evidence-based behavioral management strategies. Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional methods to maximize learning.
