What You'll Bring:

Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) or equivalent state credentials Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing children in educational settings Proficiency and comfort with American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities used by students Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with educators, families, and support teams Ability to adapt instruction and materials to accommodate diverse learning and communication needs Enthusiasm for promoting access, self-advocacy, and independence among students

Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and supports to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and learning environments as needed Support development of students' language, literacy, and social-emotional skills Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and meetings Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering strategies to promote optimal learning Advocate for equity and inclusion within the school community
