Job Description
Rondout School District 72 seeking Substitute Educators to work on a part-time temporary basis as needed to cover teacher absences. Substitute Educators provide backup teaching services when full-time teachers are unable to work. A Substitute Educator executes lesson plans left by the teacher who is absent. Substitute Educators create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. Substitute Teachers monitor, observe, and report student behavior according to school policies and procedures. Substitute Educators must hold a valid substitute teaching license or a valid teaching license. Candidates will be required to have a background check, up-to-date physical and provide evidence of their licensure including copies of transcripts. Previous related experience is preferred. Training will be provided upon employment. Substitute Educator hours are from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a full day. Half day assignments are also available. An in-person interview is required.
