To Be Determined Job Description Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School is seeking an Extended Leave Substitute Teacher for our SAILS Program (Students Achieving Independence of Life Skills). The Extended leave substitute teacher will work with our SAILS students (grades 9-12) teaching life skills, reading, writing, and mathematics. The teacher will collaborate with paraprofessionals and other service providers. The job is in a sub-separate setting where students spend the majority of their class time. The teacher will maintain student schedules, data logs, and family communication. Other responsibilities include developing IEPs, completing progress reports, and working directly with the special education coordinator. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with paraprofessionals, special education staff, related service providers, families, and administration to provide a highly supportive and structured learning environment that promotes student growth and independence. Responsibilities Provide direct instruction in life skills, functional academics, reading, writing, and mathematics Support students in the development of daily living, communication, social-emotional, and vocational readiness skills Maintain a positive, safe, and student-centered classroom environment Collaborate with paraprofessionals and service providers to implement individualized supports Maintain student schedules, progress monitoring data, and communication logs Assist with the implementation of IEPs, progress reports, and transition planning goals Support students in community-based learning experiences as appropriate Work closely with the Special Education Coordinator and building administration
