Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our educational team, bringing energy and flexibility to classrooms across various grade levels. In this vital role, you will step into the classroom environment, delivering engaging lessons, managing student behavior, and ensuring a positive learning experience for all students. Your adaptability and passion for education will help maintain continuity in instruction when regular teachers are unavailable. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while honing your teaching skills in diverse educational settings. The North River Collaborative classrooms located in Bridgewater, Easton, Pembroke and West Bridgewater Public Schools are in need of classroom substitutes. The students (3-22 y/o) have cognitive, physical impairments and/or behavior challenges and may require physical assistance (lifting and/or self-care) throughout the day. Training as a home health aide, child care provider or in special education is preferred but not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves students with multiple disabilities Reinforce the learning of materials and skills Assist with daily living skills, including toileting Provides academic support Implements behavior support plan Monitors progress towards IEP goals Works under the supervision of the classroom teacher Supervision and training provided
Additional Responsibilities:
Physically lift up to 50 pounds and assist in lifting over 100 pounds and assist students in all daily activities. This will require the ability to physically lift a student or assist in lifting and physically accompany a student during activities such as toileting, personal hygiene and self-care tasks. Physically lift or assist in lifting students into and out of adaptive/therapy equipment when appropriate. Physically assist students during fire drills or actual emergency situations. Substitutes are often given first consideration for full and part-time employment.
