Job Overview:
Wakefield Public Schools is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Substitute Teachers. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity and providing quality education in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This position offers a flexible schedule and an opportunity to contribute to the academic success of students in Wakefield.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Management:
Effectively manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment conducive to student engagement and success.
Instructional Delivery:
Implement lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring that learning objectives are met and educational standards are maintained.
Adaptability:
Be adaptable to different grade levels, subjects, and classroom settings, demonstrating flexibility in accommodating diverse teaching styles and student needs.
Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with school staff, administrators, and students to ensure a smooth transition for both the teacher and students.
Supervision:
Oversee students during class hours, ensuring their safety and well-being while following school policies and procedures.
Professionalism:
Uphold a high level of professionalism, demonstrating punctuality, reliability, and a commitment to promoting a positive school culture.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt quickly to different teaching environments and grade levels. Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
