Working under the supervision of the Principal and in collaboration with the Teacher of Record, the Long-Term Substitute delivers standards-based instruction, manages the classroom environment, monitors student progress, collaborates with staff and families, and supports the school's mission and instructional goals. The Teacher of Record retains responsibility for IEP development, legal compliance, and special education case management. Accountability Reports to the Principal or designee. Maintains continuity of classroom instruction and daily operations during the assignment. Collaborates with the Teacher of Record and school leadership. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides day-to-day instructional direction to classroom assistants and support staff assigned to the classroom; does not complete formal evaluations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Deliver standards-based instruction using differentiated practices. Maintain a positive, structured learning environment. Implement PBIS and school behavior expectations. Use assessment data to guide instruction. Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff. Maintain accurate classroom records. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and deliver engaging instruction. Maintain classroom routines, procedures, and student safety. Differentiate instruction based on student needs. Monitor attendance, grades, and academic progress. Implement accommodations and classroom behavior supports as directed. Participate in meetings, PLCs, and professional development. Communicate with families under the guidance of administration. Perform additional duties as assigned. Teaching certification preferred or eligibility to obtain certification. Previous classroom teaching or long-term substitute experience preferred.
