What You'll Do As a Substitute Teacher, you'll help keep students learning and engaged while their regular teacher is away. Follow the teacher's lesson plans and classroom instructions. Create a safe, welcoming, and positive learning environment. Keep students engaged, encourage participation, and support classroom learning. Maintain classroom expectations and manage student behavior professionally. Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, recess, and transitions. Communicate with school staff about classroom activities, student progress, and any concerns. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in childcare, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth programs, or a related field is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
