A Substitute Teacher teaches or supervises classes for teachers who are away on leave or sick. May substitute for teachers at several different schools or school districts. May substitute for one day or for a longer term absence; may follow lesson plans developed by the regular teacher, or work with teacher who will be out to create new lesson plans and assignments.

Job Description

Qualifications:
Individual must have obtained a high school diploma. A GED without an associate's degree does not meet the requirements. Potential substitutes MUST meet with a principal or assistant principal in Watauga County Schools to obtain a recommendation for employment. Rate of Pay:
Individuals who hold a valid North Carolina Professional Educator's Certificate will receive $152 per day. All other individuals will be paid $125 per day.
