TITLE:
Permanent Substitute
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduate or equivalant. Previous experience as a substitute teacher. Copy of the Effective Teacher Training Certificate or Teaching License. Strong technology integration skills. Ability to effectively use multiple software applications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows the lesson plan left by the teacher for whom he/she is substituting. Possess the ability to plan appropriate educational activities for students when there are no plans available or when assigned because of an emergency. Maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning. Applies all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, materials, equipment and facilities. Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned. Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and during lunch, class change and other break periods. Follows all policies, rules, and procedures to which regular teachers are subject and which good teaching practice dictates. Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing fairness. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hand and finger dexterity for accurate input and output of computer data. Auditory acuity at a level to hear telephone conversations, customer questions and concerns, and supervisor vocalized instructions. Visual acuity to read and analyze computer screen, documents and correspondence. Must be able to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word. 25 lbs lifting, 25 lbs pushing/pulling, bending, and stooping and squatting.
