Job Overview Substitute Teacher - Short-Term & Long-Term Opportunities Desert Torah Academy - Las Vegas, NV Desert Torah Academy, a religious Jewish day school, is looking to build a strong roster of substitute teachers for our elementary and middle school classrooms. We are looking for dependable educators who can step into the classroom when needed, whether for a single day, several days, or a longer-term assignment. This is a great opportunity for experienced teachers, retired educators, education students, or others with strong classroom experience who are looking for a flexible school schedule. Responsibilities Provide classroom coverage for absent teachers Follow lesson plans and classroom routines provided by the regular teacher Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment Assist students with assigned classwork and activities Communicate with school administration as needed For longer-term assignments, help maintain continuity in instruction and communicate with parents when appropriate Schedule Substitute positions available Monday-Friday School hours are generally 8:30 AM-4:00 PM Opportunities may include: Single-day substitute coverage Multiple-day assignments Long-term substitute positions Flexible availability is welcome Compensation Competitive substitute pay based on experience and length of assignment. Qualifications Teaching or classroom experience preferred Teaching certification is a plus but is not required Strong classroom management and communication skills Dependable, professional, and comfortable working with children Ability to follow lesson plans and school procedures Commitment to helping students succeed and supporting Desert Torah Academy's mission to compassionately educate all children Location Las Vegas, NV Job Type Part-time / Substitute / Temporary We are currently building our substitute teacher roster and welcome applicants who may be available regularly, occasionally, or for longer-term assignments.
