A Substitute Teacher teaches or supervises classes for teachers who are away on leave or sick. May substitute for teachers at several different schools or school districts. May substitute for one day or for a longer term absence; may follow lesson plans developed by the regular teacher, or work with teacher who will be out to create new lesson plans and assignments.

Manhattan, NY This position provides the opportunity to work across five All My Children Daycare locations throughout our Manhattan , offering variety and the chance to work with different classrooms, children, and team members. What You'll Do As an Assistant Teacher, you'll help create a classroom where children feel safe, supported, loved, and excited to learn.
Your day may include:
Helping plan and implement fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning and development Creating and maintaining a safe, clean, positive, and engaging classroom environment Working alongside Lead Teachers to support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development Engaging children through play, conversation, reading, music, art, and hands-on activities Building positive relationships with children and communicating thoughtfully with families and staff Supporting daily routines including meals, diapering, toileting, and rest time Encouraging children's curiosity, independence, confidence, and love of learning Helping create a classroom community where every child feels valued and included
What We're Looking For Required:
High school diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years old At least 1- 2 years of experience in a classroom setting Genuine love and enthusiasm for working with young children Willingness to work at different All My Children locations throughout
Manhattan Preferred:
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and/or Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education 2+ years of experience working in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices You'll Be a
